Costs and Money in Norway

Credit Cards

In Norway you need some kroner.
The exchange rate of the kroner in Norway is always changing based on local prices in oil and interest rates. In Norway in 2002 the kroner was getting stronger and stronger in relation to the US dollar and Euro. This was when Norway was the third biggest oil exporter in the world. Good for Norway! The kroner of Norway then reached another all time high in 2005. This growth continued, and in 2008 the USD fell below 5.1 against the kroner in Norway! So in conclusion, Norway isn’t the cheapest country for the American traveler, but it is by far one of the most valuable places to go. Don’t let the exchange rates discourage you from a once-in-a-lifetime journey through a country of unparalleled splendor.
