Drinking in Norway

Some people say that drinking in Norway is pricey, but I say that it’s worth every cent! The people of Norway are notorious beer drinkers, especially of the pilsner variety. But wine drinkers need not fear, because there’s a drink for every palate in Norway. For those adventurers who want to sip a little “firewater”, go for the akevitt of Norway. It’s a flavored, distilled liquor with anywhere between 42 and 45 percent alcohol by volume! Holy smokes! So that’s how the Norwegians stay warm! It’s a traditional drink for Christmas, along with beer, and is said to create much more room in the stomach for food. Well, with what we know about the food of Norway, that’s not a bad idea.
